Risk Disclosure

Investment risk

Investments involve risk. Their value may fall, and an investor may lose part or all of the amount invested. Portfolio rules and diversification do not guarantee protection against losses.

Model portfolios

ALQA’s portfolios use defined rules and quantitative models. The relationships underlying those models may change, and market conditions may differ from the periods tested. A portfolio’s availability does not make it suitable for every investor. Published research and portfolio subscriptions do not include personalized advice or a suitability assessment; selecting a model does not create a personalized consulting relationship.

Backtests and displayed results

Backtests illustrate what applying defined rules to historical data might have produced. They do not represent actual trading or a customer’s account experience.

Results depend on data sources, assumptions and the trading costs used. Actual results may differ materially. Past or hypothetical results do not guarantee future performance.

Risk targets and drawdowns

Risk targets and drawdown thresholds are portfolio-management tools, not guarantees. Losses may exceed targeted levels or historical drawdowns, particularly during sharp market movements, price gaps or execution difficulties.

Execution, liquidity and capacity

Customer results may differ from the model portfolio because of execution timing, prices, liquidity, account size, unit rounding, costs and broker restrictions.

Liquidity, order size and execution timing can affect prices and actual results. Capacity limits help manage these risks but do not guarantee execution prices or that a customer’s results will match the model portfolio.

Instruments, financing and currencies

Risks depend on the instruments used by each portfolio. They may include equities, bonds, commodities and digital assets, as well as leverage or financing where these form part of the portfolio’s operation.

Leverage can amplify gains and losses. Daily leveraged funds may also perform differently from a multiple of their benchmark over longer holding periods. Exchange-rate movements may affect results measured in a currency different from the investment currency.

Portfolio-specific risks are described on each portfolio page.

Automatic following and external services

Automatic following depends on service-provider and broker systems, connectivity and data. Delays, interruptions or rejected orders may cause positions and results to diverge.

Keeping funds at a broker does not remove investment or operational risks. Stopping following or cancelling a subscription does not automatically close existing positions.
